PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma)

Your own concentrated platelets, applied to skin or scalp to support the body’s natural repair processes. Used for both face and hair-support protocols.

PRP

What it is for

PRP uses a small sample of your own blood, processed to concentrate the platelets rich in growth factors. It is applied to support the skin’s or scalp’s natural repair, as a complement to your other treatments. It does not replace them.

PRP

It may help with

  • Overall skin quality, tone and texture
  • Fine lines and early loss of firmness
  • Thinning hair, as part of a scalp-support plan

PRP

How it works

A small blood sample is spun in a centrifuge to isolate platelet-rich plasma, then applied with microneedling or micro-injections depending on the area. Your own biology does the work.

PRP

Your appointment

  1. Assessment of skin or scalp condition and goals

  2. Blood sample taken on the day, processed in clinic

  3. Application to the treated area

  4. Aftercare guidance and series planning if appropriate

PRP

Suitability

PRP suits many skin types, but conditions such as active infection, certain blood disorders or anticoagulant use need review first. Suitability is always confirmed at consultation.

PRP

Results & recovery

Improvement is gradual. Skin quality and (in scalp protocols) density are typically assessed over weeks to months, often after a series of sessions. Individual results vary.

Aftercare

  • Expect mild redness; avoid makeup for 12–24 hours (face)
  • Avoid sun and heat for 48 hours
  • Scalp: avoid washing for the advised period, usually 24 hours
  • Report prolonged swelling or unusual symptoms

Common questions

A topical anaesthetic is used for the blood draw and application. Most clients describe it as mild pressure or tingling rather than pain.

A common starting point is 3–4 sessions spaced several weeks apart, then reviewed. Your practitioner will plan the series after assessment, not before.
